How do you like my weird little ladies? I gave myself an assignment: do 10 drawings in 50 minutes (5 minutes per drawing). I cut a bunch of 3 by 5 inch pieces of paper and was pretty good about sticking to 5 minutes for each one. There might have been one or two where I went to 6 minutes, but I followed the rules pretty well.
It took a little bit (I actually was about ready to throw in the towel after the first 3 or 4 and call it a stupid project), but I eventually got into a groove, and by the last one I was having lots of fun and trying to decide when I would do this project again. The thing that helped me get there was really letting loose; letting loose so much that my drawings got absolutely ridiculous. I love how ridiculous they are. The girl with the goggles on her head cracks me up. That one is definitely my favorite.
The shark was earlier on in the project during the warm-up period. I think it's noticeably more stiff than the others. Does anyone else give themselves little assignments like this? I'd love to hear about and do others. If you've done/do one like this, I would love to see what other artists come up with; post links!
