You might want to pay attention because this blog post contains images of the most awesome thing I have ever or will ever make. Not that I won't go on to do great things, but let's face it: there's no topping this:
|I made this. I MADE this.|
I hate to brag but... wait a second... I *love* to brag! Well, about things I'm proud of and work hard to make anyway. I mean, c'mon; that thing actually blinks! Like a real light! I even got to bust out my Han Solo boots and my Princess Leia shirt-belt combo for these photos:
I'm not gonna lie; I felt hot (literally and figuratively). It's hard to describe feeling simultaneously bad ass and geeky as hell. I got some responses as I was driving around with it on for the first time today. Most notably, I got a honk and a thumbs up from some shady dudes in a truck... I guess you know you're winning when shady dudes in a truck give you the thumbs up.
Don't get me wrong, I totally gave them the thumbs up back.
Anyway, I hope you like my R2D2 helmet (stated explicitly for those of you who have been looking at this whole post thinking, "what the heck is that supposed to be?"). I have a how-I-made-it post lined up for later this week, so stay tuned for that. Also, if you live in the area, I hope you'll wave hi if you see me driving around. Until then, may the force be with you (I had to say it).
Special thanks to Jon Hauptman for technical support and photography and Philadelphia Scooters for providing a helmet for me to play around with. And, as always, go me.
